Solar and lunar calendar and weather
The date of Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi's entry into Jerusalem is stated on Friday, 27 Rajab 583 AH. But no one today knows what the weather was like in Palestine at that time. According to the solar calendar, this was October 2, 1187. Today, with the help of Google, anyone can find out what the weather was like there. The problem with the lunar calendar is that it does not tell the weather.
In our history, the date of the accident of Karbala is known as 10 Muharram 61 AH. Writing an obituary on this tragedy, Mir Anis has recited many poems on the intensity of heat and this poem of his is a rare example:
Fall out of sight and stand in the way
Get a million blisters in sight
According to the solar calendar, it was October. (10 Muharram 61 AH according to 10 October 680 AH). Now in October, Karbala is not so hot, but the night is quite chilly. Fortunately, Mir Anis did not know this, otherwise Urdu literature would have been deprived of many high quality poems. Perhaps that is why it is said that ignorance is also a blessing.
